Top-rated independent heating and cooling across central Arkansas and the Arkansas River Valley

Ductless Mini-Split Installation

We install ductless mini-split systems in homes across Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. A mini-split is an outdoor condenser paired with one or more wall or ceiling heads, connected by a small line set instead of ductwork. Homeowners call us when a room never gets comfortable, when a bonus room or garage conversion has no ducts, or when adding duct runs through a hot attic makes no sense. Call us and we will measure the space, look at your existing system, and tell you what fits.

What a Mini-Split Installation Involves

The work starts with load math for the room, not a guess. We size the head to the space in BTU terms, then pick a mounting spot that moves air where you actually sit. A small penetration through the exterior wall carries the refrigerant lines, the drain and the control wiring back to the outdoor unit. We set the condenser on a pad or wall bracket, run the line set, pull a vacuum, commission the charge and check the drain falls the right direction. Then we walk you through the remote and the modes.

What We Check Before and During Install

We check the electrical capacity at your panel, because most mini-splits want a dedicated circuit. We look at wall construction, insulation and window exposure, since a west-facing room in our summers behaves nothing like a north bedroom. We confirm condensate has somewhere to go that will not stain drywall in three years. During startup we verify line-set length against the charge, measure supply and return air temperatures, and watch how the unit handles humidity, which matters more here than raw cooling capacity.

How We Decide a Ductless System Is the Right Call

Ductless makes sense when there is no duct path, when the duct path runs through an attic that hits punishing temperatures, or when one or two rooms are the only problem. It also fits sunrooms, additions, workshops and upstairs spaces that a central system was never sized for. If your ducts are intact and the whole house is uneven, we will say so and look at the ductwork or the central equipment instead. We would rather fix the real cause than sell you a head on the wall.

Ductless Mini-Split Installation — quick answers

Can one mini-split cool my whole house?

Usually not from a single head. Air will not travel around corners and down halls on its own. A multi-zone system with a head in each problem room works better. We will map that out during the visit.

Will a mini-split heat as well as cool?

Yes. Most units we install are heat pumps and run in reverse for heating, which covers a lot of our winter. In hard cold snaps, homes with a gas furnace still lean on the furnace for the main living space.

How much wall does the indoor head take up?

A typical wall head is a few feet wide and shallow, mounted high on the wall. Ceiling cassette and floor-mounted options exist if wall space is tight. We show you placement choices before anything is cut.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptom

Call or fill out the quote form and describe what the system is doing. Warm air, short cycling, water on the floor, a smell, a noise. That detail tells us what parts to load on the truck.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behaviour and the ductwork. You hear what we found in plain language before anything gets replaced or repaired.

  3. Step 3

    You approve the fix

We explain the repair, what it costs and what happens if you wait a season. Nothing gets done without your go-ahead, and we tell you honestly when a repair no longer makes sense.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know humid-climate systemsAcross the region the real enemy is moisture. Systems here run long hours pulling water out of the air, and that shows up as frozen coils, clogged drains and mildew smells. We diagnose for humidity, not just temperature.
  • Mixed gas and heat pump workPlenty of homes we visit run a heat pump with gas backup, and the two have to hand off cleanly. We troubleshoot both sides, including defrost boards, reversing valves, ignitors and heat exchanger concerns.
  • Attic ductwork is our daily breadMid-century homes often have ducts running through attics that hit brutal temperatures. Crushed runs, disconnected boots and leaking joints steal cooling before it reaches the room. We find them instead of blaming the equipment.
  • Repair before replaceA capacitor, a contactor, a blower motor or a clogged drain line fixes a lot of the calls we take. We would rather fix what you have and tell you plainly when the numbers stop working.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Carrier and Trane to Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and Bryant, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersNot worth fixing? We say that out loud, and often it saves you the visit fee.
